werewolf litho: end result

so this is what became of that transparency I posted a while back. this was my first time using a photo plate and it was just problem after problem. midway through the image stopped receiving ink so out of 26 prints, the only usable ones I have are the 3 or 4 I did on newsprint testing the pressure. still, those 3 to 4 prints ended up looking pretty sweet. better luck next time I guess.

NEWSFLASH! I A POCKET FULL OF STONES AND BAD HOES!

I would give almost anything to have one of those kids who sold newspapers in the 30's shouting this headline on a street corner.

No Coffins shirt

This is a shirt I'm working on for my friend Zack's Band "No Coffins". In case it didn't come across, its supposed to be fat Orson Welles wearing those flipped up brim baseball caps all those damn punk kids love so much. I may just leave it as it is, I'm kind of up in the air about whether to color it or not. I'm afraid that the normal watercolors I use would look patchy considering how large the image is.

I don't know if it reads well, but that shit going on in his breast pocket is supposed to be the bulge of a pair of brass knuckles

a closeup of Orson's face. hopefully it doesn't come off as too "boardwalk caricature"

werewolf tagging transparency

this is a transparency I was going to shoot onto a photo plate for litho, but the wet ink kinda got messed up on the gate thing. I'm not sure if it adds to it or just looks like a mistake.

sea shepherds magazine illustrations

These are mock magazine illustrations for an article on the sea shepherds. While I don't know how I feel about the group itself I am really happy with how these drawings came out. Its nice to have reminders that despite the stress of going to MICA and having to compete with all these absurdly talented and passionate people that my own skills are improving little by little.
